Description

Although compassion fatigue is sometimes called burnout, it is a slightly different concept. Unlike burnout, compassion fatigue is highly treatable and may be less predictable. Having experienced and researched compassion fatigue and overcoming it, I bring a unique perspective. Many people want to change, when they attempt to do it alone they do not succeed. When issues involve others, we may ask friends and family for advice and although they have good intentions you may need an unbiased and trained guidance a professional. I provide a supportive, confidential environment to assist you when facing life's various challenges.

I worked as a social worker for several years while managing my mother who developed Alzheimer's disease at the age of 57. I have gained foundational experience through education and I have also been through and overcome many challenges in life, therefore I bring a unique perspective.

I have been a consultant for over 15 years. I am presently working on my doctorate and have written several journal articles on Living with Alzheimer's disease from the caregivers' perspective. I have spoken at 2 International conferences on living with the disease and caregiver distress. I have also written two books on Dementia.

With the pandemic I am dealing with many anxiety, depression and relationship challenges. In addition, I have now taken on a younger demographic aged 15 and up. I also have added Virtual Reality Therapy to my practice. All the details are listed on my website.
