Description
Trauma therapy by a Registered Social Worker with a Master of Social Work.
Support Offered:
EMDR Therapy:
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing is an evidence-based trauma therapy that helps people process implicit (or body based) memory, and address trauma related beliefs. I use parts work as needed, drawing from Internal Family Systems and Trauma-Informed Stabilization Treatment.
Talk Therapy:
Talk therapy with me involves integration of evidence-based and emerging practices that suit your therapy goals and personal values. I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy for Individuals, Solution-Focused Therapy, and somatic and experiential approaches
Synchronous Messaging:
Beginning therapy can be intimidating, and sometimes we don`t have the physical privacy we`d like to do a video session. I offer scheduled messaging sessions through a secure platform, in 30 or 60 minute increments.
About Anna McCully MSW, RSW:
My practice is built on deep respect for people and the various ways they have adapted to survive. I enjoy supporting people in developing more compassionate relationships to themselves and others, becoming more present in their lives, freeing themselves from the past, and living by their values. I have training in a variety of approaches that I bring into sessions in a spontaneous way, tailored to people and the moment. I am constantly engaging in professional learning and personal growth to show up for the people I work with in a genuine, curious, and open way.
My areas of focus for training and practice are primarily trauma; relationship to food, eating and body image; and adverse childhood experiences. I most frequently use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, Emotionally Focused Therapy for Individuals, and somatic practices.
I am registered to work with those living in New Brunswick, Newfoundland & Labrador and Nova Scotia. I am currently practicing virtually only.
