I am a Calgary based therapist who is trained in both cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR). I specialize in trauma and PTSD, as well as new dads and fathers in the postpartum phase. Additionally, I treat depression, dysthmia, generalized anxiety, phobias, obsessive compulsive disroder, stress and stress related disroders, and addictions. I offer appointments in person and virtually.

About Me:

Hi, I'm Kevin, nice to meet you. Although I am not a native Calgarian, I have been able to call the city home, along with my wife and daughter, for 20 years now. I am fortunate to have been able to train and work as a therapist in this beautiful city and have worked in a number of different clinical settings including homeless shelters, Urgent Care, Adult Psychiatry, Addictions & Mental Health, and now private practice.

I am a graduate of the University of Calgary and hold a Master's Degree in Clinical Social Work Practice (2010) and also am a Registered Clinical Social Worker. Through a process of ongoing clinical education and professional development I have obtained Advanced Training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Certification in Cybercounselling through the University of Toronto, and I have completed EMDR training through the EMDR Centre of Canada. I have a special interest in working with mood disorders and anxiety, post-secondary students, and peri and post-partum fathers.

When not in sessions or working in a clinic, I am busy spending time with my family outdoors...biking, hiking, travelling and more.

My Approach:

My approach to psychotherapy is of a client centered nature, where YOU and YOUR WELLBEING are what matter to me. In choosing to work with me, you can expect a courteous, professional, confidential and warm therapy environment because my therapeutic relationship with you begins when you walk through the door.

All psychotherapy begins with assessment, as this is what helps me learn all that I can about you...so that I can do the very best work for you, to help you achieve your therapy goals and to live a life of mental wellness, courage, and strength.

To accomplish this, I am very thorough in my approach to assessment and you can expect me to gather a lot of information about YOU, from you. This helps me to create a road map to help you the best ways that I can.
