It is my belief that we are resilient human beings with many intrinsic resources and strengths to help us resolve and heal issues we may face. It is often helpful to have the support of a professional, who is not connected to one’s personal life and who can provide a new perspective, tools, and coping strategies when dealing with life’s adversities.
As a Marriage and Family Therapist, I use a systemic lens and holistic approach. I strive to provide a supportive and creative space for clients to talk openly and feel understood. I also believe that, at times, it is important to help clients connect issues from the past to present.
My work with individuals, couples, and families is based on the understanding that childhood experiences, relationships, attachment styles, patterns and dynamics carry over into adult life. Difficulties in adult relationships often originate in unconscious, partially resolved or unresolved childhood issues.
Processing, resolving, releasing and healing traumatic experiences through 'Post-Traumatic Growth' helps clients reframe their life in a more helpful way, which can create new connections and different perspectives.
As a Marriage and Family Therapist, I will provide a safe space for my clients to explore and work through their concerns. Here, a person can be motivated and challenged to initiate change. Thinking about who we are, what our values and goals are, and deepening our understanding of how we came to be this way can be a powerful experience.
