Description

I always knew I wanted to pursue a career in the health care field, and when I discovered Naturopathic Medicine, I knew it was my calling. My interest in Naturopathic Medicine began after witnessing my mother’s health improve immensely with the use of naturopathic therapies after she was diagnosed with fibromyalgia. I have also experienced my own health struggles including a 10 year battle with acne, anxiety, digestive concerns (IBS), hormonal imbalances (i.e., thyroid, cortisol) and I’ve experienced burn out. With the use of various naturopathic medicine tools, I’ve been able to trust my body’s ability to heal and I have learned valuable tools and habits for nourishing my body. I now feel radiant and better than ever in my body after regaining my health. I have a special interest in treating digestive concerns, hormonal imbalances, fatigue, anxiety, stress management, and skin disorders with a focus on acne. I also treat a mix of everything in between in relation to women's health. In my free time I enjoy travelling, yoga and meditation, reading, going for hikes in the mountains and spending quality time with my friends and family.

Dr. Julie believes that we all deserve to live in a state of optimal health and wellness. Her goal is

to provide you with the tools necessary for healing and to empower you to take charge of your

health. She focuses on preventative medicine that involves addressing the root cause of

symptoms and looking at how the body functions and connects as a whole: mind, body and

spirit.

No one deserves to suffer with symptoms that create havoc and illness within the body.

Symptoms are a message from the body and an encouragement to start listening to what is

happening internally. Furthermore, these symptoms can be changed through successful

treatments such as: lifestyle modification, nutrition and supplements, detoxification, mindfulness and breathing techniques. These therapies help create the catalyst for change the body needs to heal and to be brought back into alignment.

Functional medicine testing that may be recommended: IgG food sensitivity test, salivary hormone test, Dutch hormone test, comprehensive stool analysis, SIBO breath test, heavy metal test, and autoimmune reactivity screening.

Nutrition:

"Let food be thy medicine, and let medicine be thy food" Hippocrates (400 BC), emphasizes the importance of nutrition in the prevention of disease. Supplement Recommendations:

High quality, third party tested, professional grade supplements may be recommended as part of your treatment plan. In order to stimulate healing, the body may need extra support through oral supplementation of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, probiotics, protein, digestive enzymes, or amino acids.
