APPROACH:

I believe that everyone has a story to tell. Through connecting with my clients, I strive to create a warm, collaborative, and non-judgemental space where individuals feel safe to explore those challenging aspects within their life. I work to access a person’s inherent strength, and through this process, empower my clients to face their obstacles, gain new perspectives, and harness new skills for meaningful change.

To address individual concerns and needs, I take a strength-based, client-centred approach; drawing from several research-supported therapeutic modalities including acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), and narrative-therapy (NT).

As a mother myself, I understand the challenges that can come with pregnancy, childbirth, and motherhood. In the spirit of transparency, my own pregnancy was stressful having suffered from severe hypertensive complications (pre-eclampsia and HELLP syndrome), premature delivery at 31 weeks, and difficulty adjusting to motherhood. It has been 13 years since my son was born, and my own healing journey inspired me to complete my master’s research on the experience of HELLP syndrome in pregnancy and its influence on motherhood, as well as undertake training in perinatal mental health. I wholly believe that with my personal understanding, in combination with my academic knowledge and advanced training, I can be of service to individuals affected by perinatal challenges.
