Our experienced team consists of Registered Psychologists specializing in clients aged 4-25, Registered Counseling Therapists for all ages, Speech-Language Pathologists for both children and adults, and Behavior Interventionists (BCBA-Certified, EIBI-trained) providing in-home services for Autism Spectrum Disorder. Additionally, our Learning Strategist offers skilled, norm-referenced assessments and personalized weekly tutoring sessions based on tailored learning plans for ages 5-25.
At Spirit Psychological, psychoeducational, speech-language, and behavioral assessments are central to our practice, and we currently boast the shortest wait list in the Halifax Regional Municipality for these services.
Through our Learning Strategist, we implement programs such as SMARTS (focused on executive function and ADHD) and JumpMath (effective for skill delays and learning disorders in math). We also provide targeted interventions for reading and writing difficulties, utilizing team-based approaches rooted in the Orton-Gillingham and SpellRead philosophies.
Our Registered Counseling Therapists offer various specialized treatments, including individual, couple, and family counseling through an Emotion-Focused Therapy lens. We provide addictions-specific counseling, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Trauma Reintegration Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) for clients of all ages.
Additionally, we are proud to offer Newcomer Support through our Registered Counseling Therapist, Maxine Roberts, who collaborates with provincial and local support systems, including ISANS, NSHA, and HRCE, to provide trauma-informed assistance to our newest Canadians.
