Tyler Clark Burke Psychotherapy Claimed

Therapeutic Approach & Training:

I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and trained art therapist living in downtown Toronto, Ontario. I prioritize unconditional positive regard and authenticity and believe in creating a safe and supportive environment for you to explore your experiences, emotions, and self-concept. I am attuned to somatic modalities and neurobiological research that support healing from trauma, depression, chronic pain, and anxiety. Connecting to themes of nature, working with eco-art materials, and supporting climate distress are also optional features of my practice. In addition to my art therapy training, I am a climate-aware therapist and a member of the CPA (Climate Psychology Alliance) and offer EMDR using the S.A.F.E. model.

Somatic practices were an integral part of my art therapy training. Bottom-up approaches help connect us to the physiological sensations and responses of our body, which may be helpful for those of us experiencing chronic illness or pain. Body-oriented approaches may also be beneficial for individuals who consider themselves busy thinkers (e.g., ADHD) or who wonder why they’re not feeling better even though they’ve logically “figured out” all their problems.
