Family & Cosmetic Dentist Dr. Engin Aras

Dr. Aras graduated from Brookfield High School in Ottawa, ON, Canada in 1966. His education/training includes a DDS from the School of Dentistry, Istanbul, Turkey in 1970 and an M.Sc.D. and a Ph.D. in Prosthodontics and Maxillofacial Prosthetics from the University of Montpellier, France.

His studies in France included training in the prosthetic rehabilitation of cancer surgery defects, post traumatic defects and rehabilitation of cleft palate deformities. He received his Doctorat de Troisieme Cycle Degree (Ph.D) in 1973. In 1982 he was in Basel Switzerland where he received training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery after which he returned to his Ege University and continued to work both as a clinician and academician.

He had his DDS from Columbia University, New York, USA in 2003 and his NDBE – Canada in 2005. Dr. Aras has taught and practiced Prosthodontics, Maxillofacial Prosthetics and Oral Implantology since 1975. Dr. Aras worked as a General Dentist at the Straits of Belle Isle Health Center in Flower’s Cove, NL. Then after relocating to Ontario he has been working part time at the University of Toronto Dental School.

In his practice he is focused to teaching patients the strategies necessary to maintain their teeth and oral health, to minimize teeth loss, related bone loss and deterioration of their masticatory function, oral and facial aesthetics. On top of his general dentistry, oral and implant surgery, he offers procedures designed to replace missing teeth and restore maximum function and aesthetics.

He is a member of the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario, American Dental Association, Turkish Dental Association, American Academy of Maxillofacial Prosthetics, NL Dental Board and NL Dental Association, and Turkish Association of Prosthodontics and Oral Implantology.

He is a fellow of International Congress of Oral Implantology and American Academy of Maxillofacial Prosthetics.
