I offer services for individuals (adults, children & elders), couples, and families who experience difficulties. I can provide you with support over different challenges, like mood difficulties, interpersonal relationships, feelings management, and self-esteem. I have recently focused my practice on maternity and its challenges (post-partum, adaptation, etc.).
As a military spouse, I am aware of the changes an army career brings, and I am available to support you or your family in those challenges. I value empowerment mainly: everyone has the power to take control over their situation and have the capacity to make their personal experience a better one.
About us:
I have been a social worker (B.S.W.) since 2016. I am a member of the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers, and also of the Ordre des travailleurs sociaux et des thérapeutes conjugaux et familiaux du Québec. I have certification in the animal-assisted therapy approach. I worked with various clients during the past years, including children and families experiencing a crisis, living in a poverty situation, or having difficulties regarding their behaviours or mental health. I also worked with adults who wanted to achieve social reinsertion due to mental health challenges and elders who lived in a long-term care facility. I worked in intercultural communities and with Natives people. I work in a community mental health agency: the Phoenix Centre for Children and Families. My various experiences developed my knowledge about different challenges and issues. As a military spouse, I consider myself aware of the multiple difficulties that military families and spouses may experience. I am available to offer support to families going through the changes brought by an army career. Je suis travailleuse sociale depuis 2016 et je suis certifiée pour l`utilisation de l`approche de la zoothérapie. Je suis membre de l`Ordre des travailleurs sociaux et des techniciens en travail social de l’Ontario, ainsi que de l`Ordre des travailleurs sociaux et des thérapeutes conjugaux et familiaux du Québec. Au courant des dernières années, j`ai travaillé auprès de différentes clientèles, notamment auprès des enfants et des familles en situation de crises, vivant de la pauvreté ou des difficultés au niveau de comportements et/ou de la santé mentale. J`ai également travaillé auprès d`adultes ayant comme objectif une réinsertion sociale dû à des difficultés au niveau de la santé mentale, ainsi qu`auprès de personnes âgées vivant dans un CHSLD. J`ai également travaillé au sein de communautés interculturelles, ainsi qu`auprès de personnes d`origine Autochtone. Je travaille actuellement au sein d`un organisme oeuvrant dans la santé mentale communautaire: le Phoenix Center for Children and Families. Mes différentes expériences en intervention m`ont permis de développer des connaissances concernant différents défis et problématiques. Par ailleurs, étant moi-même conjointe de militaire, je me considère sensibilisée quant aux différentes difficultés que les familles et conjoint(e) de militaire peuvent vivre. Je suis disponible pour offrir du support aux familles vivant des changements engendrés par la carrière militaire. Au sein de mes rencontres, je valorise l``empowerment`` : chacun a le pouvoir de reprendre le contrôle sur leur situation personnelle, afin de transformer celle-ci en une expérience meilleure.
Anoki is a two years old dog. His name is from the native origin and significant "comedian." It represents him well: he likes receiving attention and is a bit clumsy, which is part of his charm! He is from a native community in the province of Quebec. Anoki is a mixed bread. His principal characteristics are that he is calm and soft with people, and he also really likes being cuddled. When he was a puppy, Anoki was scared and anxious; with a lot of work and love, he became a really confident dog.
Anoki est un chien âgé de deux ans. Son prénom est d`origine autochtone et signifie "comédien". Celui-ci le représente bien: il adore avoir l`attention et il est pataud, ce qui fait partie de son charme! Il provient d`ailleurs d`une communauté autochtone du Québec. Anoki est un grand chien de race mixte. Il se caractérise par son tempérament calme et doux, ainsi que par son grand besoin de câlins. Lorsqu`il était chiot, Anoki était un chien peureux et anxieux; avec beaucoup de travail et d`amour, il est devenu un grand chien présentant une confiance en soi.
