Evolution Addiction Counselling

Evolution Addiction Counselling is located in Bedford, Nova Scotia and provides addiction counselling, treatment, and consultation to individuals and agencies throughout Nova Scotia and the rest of Canada.

I provide virtual or face to face addiction counselling, treatment and consultation. I work with clients to develop addiction treatment plans, to conduct substance abuse assessments and to support clients with addiction relapse prevention planning, substance abuse education and prevention.

Over the past twenty years I have had the opportunity to work with a few different agencies providing addiction treatment services. I have held both management and front-line positions in non-profit and private residential addiction treatment centres. Clients served have been from all walks of life including referrals from provincial health care systems, federal and provincial corrections and private health insurance companies.

The most effective addiction treatment plans take into consideration the persons unique characteristics and circumstances. In clinical practice I draw on my experience with a variety of treatment models and theoretical perspectives in order to address an individual`s unique needs.

I am a member of the Canadian Addiction Counsellors Certification Federation and I am a Canadian Certified Addiction Counsellor, a Canadian Certified Telemedicine Addiction Counselling Professional and a certified Medically Assisted Treatment Specialist.

I encourage anyone with an addiction or substance use problem to commit to positive change in order to evolve, recover and move forward in their lives without the use of substances. Although change can be challenging and uncomfortable the rewards are often surprising and always well worth it. Don`t hesitate to take the steps to build a better life. Commit to positive change.
