Centre for Contemplative Creative Science (CCCS) – Toronto, Ontario

Founded in 2020, the Centre for Contemplative Creative Science (CCCS) in Toronto, Ontario, offers innovative online continuing education programs and courses for mental health professionals and healthcare providers. Our offerings include specialized training in Contemplative Creative Therapy (CCT) and its various specializations, such as Contemplative Photo Collage (CPC), Contemplative Photo Therapy (CPT), and Contemplative BrushWork (CBW).

At CCCS, we provide a multimodal and holistic approach to mental health, blending Buddhist and Western psychologies with cutting-edge research on contemplative science, mindfulness, compassion, and meditation-based interventions. Our mission is to address and transform global mental health needs through embodied mind training and creative therapeutic techniques.

Emma JM. Ates, the founder and director of CCCS, developed the Contemplative Creative Therapy (CCT) model, integrating Buddhist psychology, Dharma art, and Miksang contemplative photography with art therapy and contemplative science. Her work focuses on cognitive, emotional, and behavioral research to facilitate transformative clinical practices.

Mission

At CCCS, our mission is to bridge contemplative Buddhist and Western wisdom, creativity, and science to disseminate knowledge and practices that foster liberating patterns of thought, emotion, and behavior. We aim to help individuals break free from habitual suffering and embrace empowering new ways of living.

Our workshops and courses are designed to support holistic well-being at the physiological, biological, psychological, and spiritual levels. By making ancient and contemporary wisdom accessible, we strive to help individuals achieve harmony with themselves, others, and the planet.
