Care & Cure Homeopathy in Ottawa, Ontario: Meet Maha
Welcome to Care & Cure Homeopathy in Ottawa, Ontario. I am Maha, a registered homeopath in Ontario and a proud graduate of the Canadian College of Homeopathic Medicine in Toronto. As a member of the Ontario College of Homeopaths, I bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to my practice. My journey in medicine began with a degree from Cairo University’s Faculty of Medicine in 1987, followed by MSc and MD degrees in Pediatrics. I was later promoted to Professor of Pediatrics and spent five years in Kuwait establishing a Pediatric Weight Control Clinic focused on obesity prevention and treatment in children.
My transition to homeopathy in Canada introduced me to the unique concept of the vital force—a spirit-like energy that directs all aspects of life in the organism. Unlike conventional medicine, which often uses remedies to counteract symptoms, homeopathy uses remedies that produce similar symptoms to stimulate the body’s healing process. This approach allows for a smoother and more natural healing experience.
One notable example is the use of methylphenidate hydrochloride (Ritalin) for ADHD in children, which, although a stimulant, exemplifies the “like treating like” principle seen in homeopathy. However, in conventional medicine, this principle is not applied in a way that minimizes side effects.
In my practice, I focus on treating the whole person by addressing mental, emotional, and physical symptoms comprehensively. I am particularly interested in helping individuals with eczema and asthma, conditions that are prevalent among children and often require long-term treatment with potential side effects. Homeopathic remedies offer a safe and gentle alternative for these conditions.
Outside of my practice, I enjoy crocheting as a creative and relaxing hobby.
