Dr. Sam, the founder of <strong>Restoration Counselling Services<\/strong>, is dedicated to helping clients achieve greater peace and happiness in their lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Sam, who grew up in Kelowna, BC, has received his education in <strong>La Colombie-Britannique<\/strong>, <strong>Europe<\/strong>, and the <strong>USA<\/strong>, earning a doctorate in <strong>Christian Counselling<\/strong>. With 30 years of a happy marriage, he brings a deep passion for life and a commitment to enhancing the well-being of others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With over 25 years of experience, Dr. Sam has a diverse background that includes roles as a <strong>prison chaplain<\/strong> and a <strong>teacher<\/strong> in Belgium. In <strong>La Colombie-Britannique<\/strong>, he has taught at the college level and co-produced 18 TV programs focused on <strong>Boundaries<\/strong> and <strong>Depression<\/strong>. He has also served as an instructor and supervisor for <strong>M.A. in Counselling<\/strong> students. Additionally, he volunteers with the <strong>Citizens Advisory Committee<\/strong> and the <strong>BCACC Registration Committee<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Sam is highly trained in over seventy therapeutic modalities, including <strong>TIR\/LSR<\/strong>, <strong>EMDR<\/strong>, <strong>TAT<\/strong>, <strong>EFT<\/strong>, <strong>Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT)<\/strong>, <strong>Guided Imagery<\/strong>, and <strong>Pastoral Counselling<\/strong>. He holds a <strong>certificate in Trauma Counselling<\/strong> from the <strong>BC Justice Institute<\/strong>, and has received training in <strong>Critical Incident Stress Debriefing<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At Restoration Counselling Services, Dr. Sam employs a holistic, eclectic, and pragmatic approach, integrating spiritual principles upon request. His expertise covers a broad range of issues including <strong>abuse<\/strong>, <strong>addictions<\/strong>, <strong>anger<\/strong>, <strong>stress<\/strong>, <strong>depression<\/strong>, <strong>grief<\/strong>, <strong>relationships<\/strong>, and <strong>trauma<\/strong>, including <strong>PTSD<\/strong> and <strong>CPTSD<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Sam is also a trained <strong>Communication Specialist<\/strong> and a member of the <strong>Okanagan Collaborative Family Law Group<\/strong>. Since founding Restoration Counselling Services in 1993 while with the <strong>Kelowna Salvation Army<\/strong>, he has directed his private practice, offering flexible and accessible services. His contributions include co-facilitating <strong>Parenting After Separation<\/strong> sessions and the <strong>Relationship Violence Treatment Program<\/strong> in the Okanagan. He collaborates with <strong>EFAP (Employee &amp; Family Assistance Program)<\/strong> providers and the <strong>FNHA (First Nations Health Authority)<\/strong>. Dr. Sam has also penned regular articles for <strong>Castanet.net<\/strong> on various counselling topics and co-authored the best-selling book <strong>\u201cBouncing Back: Thriving in Changing Times.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Sam became a member of the <strong>British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC)<\/strong> in July 1996 and has served on its Registration Committee, Board, and as Vice-President of Region 3 for over 12 years.
